Red Hat OpenShift platform Implementation Specialist
We do have standalone Linux machines that we manage, but we’ll be migrating some of the applications from those standalone machines into the OpenShift container world. In terms of our organization, the business units are able to deploy changes to the code rapidly. They can test it on the https://globalcloudteam.com/ test cluster and, once it’s tested, they can deploy an image in seconds. Our guys are continuing to move to the OpenShift platform from whatever they were on, whether it was a mainframe or a standalone machine. Start small, scale up gradually, and involve people from different areas.
It deploys one or more HAProxy-based ingress controllers to handle routing, making services accessible to external clients. If neither of the above two files are found, build using a builder image and the built-in source-to-image technology. After a few minutes, and behind the scenes, a MySQL database container will be started. At this point, you have a database engine to be used by the application. In terms of platforms, OpenShift used to be limited to Red Hat’s own offerings but by 2020 supports others like AWS, IBM Cloud, vSphere, and bare metal deployments with OpenShift 4.

One of the valuable features is that it’s very easy to package an application and deploy it within a short period of time. Since it will be in the CI/CD pipeline, deployment is very easy. And the automation process is very easy and it’s highly scalable.

Red Hat OpenShift delivers a complete application platform for both traditional and cloud-native applications, allowing them to run anywhere. Built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and compatible with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat OpenShift enables automation inside and outside your Kubernetes clusters. Red Hat’s open hybrid cloud strategy is built on the technological foundation of Linux®, containers, and automation. An open hybrid cloud approach gives you the flexibility to run your applications anywhere you need them.

When they raised a case, the support guy said that they needed to maintain the old images. Why, when they upgraded the OpenShift, do they need to maintain the old images? My friend called me and told me this and that it is not mentioned in the documentation. He said he raised a case and then followed up with support for the last four days, but there has been no response. Now, we are facing this issue and we don’t know how to solve this problem. Documentation and technical support could be improved.
The service layer defines pods and their access policies. It provides persistent IP addresses and hostnames to pods, and allows applications to connect each other. It also supports simple internal load balancing to distribute work across application components. Up until v3, the container technology and container orchestration technology used custom developed technologies. This changed in v3 with the adoption of Docker as the container technology, and Kubernetes as the container orchestration technology. The v4 product has many other architectural changes – a prominent one being a shift to using CRI-O, as the container runtime , and Buildah as the container build tool, thus breaking the exclusive dependency on Docker.

Operators integrate with Kubernetes APIs and CLI tools, performing health checks, managing updates, and ensuring that the service/application remains in a specified state. DevOps Tools – Rest API provides the main point of interaction with the platform. WEB UI, CLI or other third-party CI/CD tools can connect to this API and allow end users to interact with the platform. Through our engagements, you get the right solutions, at the right size, with the right level of support for your business. We assist you in gaining deeper insight into the costs, utilization and performance of your existing cloud and container environments.
That’s the main goal of Jmix is to make the process quick without losing flexibility – with the open-source RAD platform enabling fast development of business applications. A lot of developers want to become independent today, and they don’t want to depend on the Infra teams for managing, provisioning, etc. If we can give a self-service capability, in terms of building a particular Kubernetes cluster end-to-end, to developers, that would be a plus. The whole area around the hybrid cloud could be improved. I would like to deploy a Red Hat OpenShift cluster on-premise and on the cloud, then have Red Hat do the entire hybrid cloud management. This feature goes a long way in helping us ensure our uptime for services, improving the performance of the system.
OpenShift Pipelines
They have a catalog of the ratings of the base images that we use to build our containers. We reference that to show our security team that an application we’re building has passed the security with vulnerabilities that are acceptable. We won’t deploy it if something is not unacceptable. We have business units with developers who deploy their containerized applications in OpenShift.
- We reference that to show our security team that an application we’re building has passed the security with vulnerabilities that are acceptable.
- The “master” components have to be running Red Hat CoreOS. This level of control enables the cluster to support upgrades and patches of the master nodes with minimal effort.
- Streamline workflows to get to production faster, including built-in Jenkins pipelines and our source-to-image technology to go straight from application code to container.
- He said he raised a case and then followed up with support for the last four days, but there has been no response.
- This improves the security posture of the cluster.
- The best part is that its application supports various runtimes, languages and architecture and makes organizations ready for the future.
When we migrated those services to OpenShift in February last year, we were able to sell over 100,000 devices in a single day, which was very good. When we deployed a cluster, it took us about one and a half hours to bring the cluster. After installing OpenShift, we needed to do some peripheral installations, such as authentication, creation of objects such as resource quota limitations, creation of templates, etc. In a maximum of two days, we were able to bring the cluster back into the required state.

Move with confidence to a new OpenShift-based architecture that provides autoscaling, automated failover and recovery, and availability and transparency for your business services across the enterprise. We save a lot of time because it’s easy to create and destroy environments where everybody can work on different docker consulting features without blocking each other. We have co-workers and developers who are helping us with the entire Red Hat suite. The integration between the Red Hat solutions is very good. If we look at OpenShift Fuse, it’s a Middleware product of Red Hat. It’s been running on virtual machines for the last few years.
Over 9 years, Ksolves has been giving its customers an environment that allows them to innovate. Ksolves together with Red Hat OpenShift is accelerating the capabilities and providing access to a better future. Adopting openShift can be the greatest decision for your business. At Ksolves, we are committed to provide you with proper guidance and support at every step.

We just did a waterfall implementation, not agile. Deploying TIBCO BusinessWorks Container Edition and optimizing it on Red Hat OpenShift is complex. In terms of traffic routing and firewall management, it was a nightmare managing that in Vanilla Kubernetes.
